Even experienced developers find it challenging to develop mobile games and make it work at the very first attempt.

mobile game development: do and don't

Apart from applications, mobile games also play an important part in the technology industry. If you’re thinking about developing your own mobile games and want to make profits from them, there are several do’s and don’ts you need to bear in mind:

Table of Contents

Get yourself familiar with mobile games, especially the hottest ones. You can’t make an attractive, funny or adventurous game if you never experience something similar. Try some games to figure out the reasons why they are trending, or why some are not as impressive as the rest. Your mobile games will then be able to avoid the shortcomings other games have.

Try to figure out the formulas. Every game has its own formulas from level designs, teaching rules to jump patterns. If you get it right, try to find what you like or dislike about those formulas and then based on what you have learnt to design your own formulas.

Never forget the phone limitation and the mobile platform you are going to work with. Otherwise, you won’t be able to utilize the capacity of the mobile phone for your games, which means you will fail.

Know your customer target. Define to whom your games are going to serve. Shape your customer segment well to make sure you don’t deliver your games to the wrong market.

Don’t mix your adventurous game with a lullaby theme song and vice versa. Or in other words, don’t ever forget to find appropriate sounds for the games you are developing. Don’t confuse your players with a mismatch between the game and the sound.

Don’t try to imitate other popular games. Your game probably won’t stand a chance to win when being compared with a similar game which has already been a phenomenon.

Don’t forget to maximize creativity and put yourself on clients’ shoe to see what they need from a mobile game. User-centric ideology is one thing you must keep in mind.

Hope this article is useful for your mobile development company. Now that you’re aware of what you should and shouldn’t do, get ready and rock the world with your game!
