Our client, HOYU, identified a market need for an easy-to-use tool that facilitates real-time interaction between teachers and students, offering unprecedented educational opportunities. With invaluable input from many potential users, Savvycom engineers helped create PDF Editor, an interactive e-book solution that functions as both a website and a mobile application. Interactive Learning Needs

HOYU faced significant challenges in developing a comprehensive educational tool that addressed various interactive learning needs. They required a solution that would enable students to view grades and comments directly within the application and facilitate one-on-one interactions between students and teachers for questions and discussions. Additionally, teachers needed the capability to assign and track homework with specific deadlines for each student, ensuring personalized and efficient management of student progress. 

Dynamic Content Creation

With the aim to allow users to create multimedia-rich e-books in PDF format, HOYU needed a system that could convert PDF files to HTML5 and JavaScript, enabling publishers to seamlessly add images, videos, and audio to their content. Furthermore, optimizing data transfer and storage requirements was crucial to ensure rapid downloads and a smooth user experience. 

Scalable Storage Solutions

HOYU sought to utilize cloud-based storage and computation to handle large volumes of e-books and other educational materials efficiently. This approach would enable authors to create and update PDF books online while allowing teachers to interact with students via a mobile app.

Interactive Features

We developed functionalities that allow students to view grades and comments directly within the application, facilitating real-time, one-on-one interactions between students and teachers. This approach enhances communication and provides personalized feedback. Additionally, we enabled teachers to assign homework and set submission deadlines for individual students, with all comments and grades being directly written into the PDF files, ensuring streamlined and efficient tracking of student progress. 

Rich Content Capabilities

To meet the dynamic content creation needs, we created tools that allow users to author e-books in PDF format, incorporating multimedia elements. We developed the HOYU PDF Editor to convert PDF files to HTML5 and JavaScript, enabling publishers to seamlessly add images, videos, and audio to their content. Furthermore, we optimized data transfer speeds by excluding unchanged data during updates, facilitating faster downloads and an improved user experience. 

Cloud-Based Storage and Security

For scalable storage solutions, we implemented cloud-based storage and computation to support unlimited e-books and educational materials. This setup allows for efficient handling of large volumes of content. We also employed AES algorithms for encryption and copyright protection, ensuring that only authorized users can open, edit, and update e-book versions. Additionally, authors can create and update PDF books directly online, and teachers can interact with students through the mobile application for real-time feedback and lectures, creating a seamless and integrated educational environment.
