Where Should Enterprises Actually Start with AI? Inside the EuroCham x Savvycom Business Luncheon
Savvycom co-hosted EuroCham Vietnam’s business luncheon in Hanoi, where a keynote and a cross-industry panel brought the conversation back to a question many enterprises have skipped past: where does AI adoption actually begin?

On 27 August 2026, Savvycom co-hosted EuroCham Vietnam’s business luncheon “AI in Business Growth – Where to Start” at the Pan Pacific Hanoi. Senior executives from banking, manufacturing, workforce services, industrial infrastructure and technology came together for a discussion deliberately focused on implementation rather than theory.
The framing question was not which AI model an enterprise should choose, but where AI adoption should begin in the first place.
The gap in the room
Opening the session, Mr. Le Ngoc Son, Director of AI Engineering at Techcombank, shared perspectives on technology in business operations, including global investment patterns and the returns enterprises are seeing.
Mr. Son noted that AI compute is entering a more expensive and complex phase, driven largely by the rise of agentic AI. He also advised organisations to adopt a proactive strategy for managing costs and infrastructure dependency, rather than simply continuing to purchase additional computing capacity.
The keynote that followed highlighted a clear gap in the market: while 88% of organizations are already using AI in at least one business function, only around one in three have begun scaling AI across the enterprise. The challenge for many organizations is no longer whether to experiment with AI, but how to turn those experiments into measurable business impact.
Keynote: start with the workflow, not the model
In his keynote, “Practical AI Adoption: From AI Ambition to Business Impact”, Savvycom Chief AI Officer Mr. Tue Nguyen outlined why AI has become a business priority rather than simply a technology initiative.
He also identified the points where AI adoption commonly stalls. Business value and the starting point are unclear, so organizations begin with tools instead of business friction. Readiness is often insufficient across data, workflow ownership, governance and adoption capability. And pilots are launched without validating financial impact.
His answer reverses the usual sequence. Rather than selecting a model and looking for somewhere to apply it, enterprises should first locate where work already breaks: delays, repetitive tasks, errors, cost leakage, operational risk and decision bottlenecks. From there, AI can be mapped to a workflow and a use case selected based on business value, data and system feasibility, and a clear KPI.
“A good AI starting point is not the flashiest use case – it is the workflow problem that matters, can be implemented, and can be measured.”
Mr. Tue Nguyen, Chief AI Officer, Savvycom

The keynote closed with a six-step path from business understanding to scaled implementation, alongside a clear division of responsibility. The business defines the problem, workflow context and KPI priorities, owns adoption and business impact, and decides what matters most. The technology partner assesses readiness, translates business priorities into feasible use cases, designs and integrates the solution, and supports scale-up through measurement, governance and change enablement.
Lessons from early adopters across industries
The panel, “AI in Action – Lessons from Early Adopters Across Industries”, was moderated by Mr. Yves Vanderstraeten, Vice Chairman of the EuroCham Digital Sector Committee and Head of IT and Digital Transformation at DEEP C. He was joined by Savvycom Chief Growth Officer Mr. Tony Nguyen, Mr. Le Ngoc Son of Techcombank, and Mr. Vo Hong Buu (Barry), Associate Director of the Outsourcing Hub at Talentnet.

Panel discussion on AI Adoption at the EuroCham X Savvycom business luncheon
Across the discussion, one pattern stood out: enterprises rarely stall because of the technology itself. The harder decision is often choosing between the use case that looks impressive and the use case that can be proven in practice.
From Savvycom’s perspective, Mr. Tony Nguyen stressed that enterprises should not begin their AI journey by selecting a tool or attempting to deploy AI across the entire organisation at once. The more practical starting point is to identify a real operational bottleneck and test one or two use cases that are both valuable and feasible to implement.
“AI does not start with choosing a tool. It starts with finding the right operational bottleneck.”
— Mr. Tony Nguyen, Chief Growth Officer, Savvycom
Techcombank brought the perspective of a highly regulated institution balancing speed with governance and risk obligations, while Talentnet highlighted the workforce dimension and the gap between AI strategies and the talent needed to execute them.
The panel also reinforced the importance of ownership, leadership, culture and people. Technology can enable transformation, but sustainable adoption depends on having clear accountability for the workflow, the KPI and the change required across the organization.
For the coming two years, the priority is not simply to run more pilots, but to give the pilots that already work an owner, a KPI and a path to scale.
Where Savvycom stands
The through-line of the session reflects how Savvycom works with enterprise clients. The value is not in recommending the newest tool. It is in accompanying business leaders through the first practical step with AI, proving that step delivers a measurable result, and then scaling what works.
That approach applies internally as well. Savvycom uses AI across its own operations, from an internal assistant that helps teams retrieve answers, documents and work instructions to AI support across recruitment, from CV screening through candidate assessment.
For the enterprises represented in the room, the next decision is narrower than it was that morning: not whether to adopt AI, but which single workflow to prove it on first.
