Savvycom Contributes to Strengthening the Vietnam-Australia Bridge in AI and Innovation 

The Vietnam-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership has entered a new phase, one in which science, technology and innovation are no longer regarded as a supporting field but as one of the pillars of bilateral cooperation. The programme of activities held in Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne, within the framework of the State visit by General Secretary and President To Lam, clearly reflected this shift and opened substantial cooperation opportunities between the innovation ecosystems of the two countries. 

Accompanying the Australian Alumni Business Network (AABN), Savvycom took part in business connection activities and contributed its perspective on the role of Vietnam in the wave of digital transformation and AI adoption currently taking place in Australia. 

From an outsourcing destination to an innovation partner 

A consistent theme throughout the programme was the shift in the way Australian enterprises perceive Vietnam. 

While Vietnam was previously known primarily as a software outsourcing destination, its increasingly mature technological capability and rapidly developing AI ecosystem have positioned the country to assume a different role, namely that of a solution implementation partner and a companion in innovation.

At the roundtable session “Opportunities in Priority Sectors”, organised by the Australian Industry Group, CEO Van Dang presented an overview of Vietnam’s digital technology industry and the complementary opportunities between the two economies. Vietnam possesses a substantial engineering workforce together with strong implementation capability, while Australia faces growing demand for digital transformation and AI in the context of a shortage of technology talent. This complementarity provides the foundation upon which the two countries may develop cooperation models of higher value in the period ahead.

Introducing Vietnam’s AI capabilities to the Australian ecosystem 

At the Tech Connect Forum held at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), Savvycom participated in the AABN exhibition area in order to introduce AI solutions developed by Vietnamese engineering teams, including: 

• AI Symbol Auto-Count: automatically identifies, classifies and counts symbols on technical drawings. 

• Savvy Agent: an internal AI assistant enabling employees to retrieve answers, documents and work instructions efficiently. 

• AI Hiring Suite: a suite of AI solutions supporting recruitment, from CV screening through to candidate assessment. 

The exhibition booth of the AABN delegation also had the honour of receiving a visit from General Secretary and President To Lam, reflecting the attention of senior leadership towards Vietnamese technology enterprises as they expand into international markets.

For Savvycom, the introduction of these products represented more than a demonstration of technology. It provided an opportunity to affirm that Vietnamese enterprises are fully capable of developing AI solutions that serve global markets. 

Establishing connections for long-term cooperation 

In addition to Sydney, the activities held in Canberra and Melbourne further expanded the dialogue between enterprises, universities, investors and Australian innovation organisations. The sessions concentrated on four priority areas: the digital economy, green energy transition, agriculture and food, and education and skills development. 

For Savvycom, the greatest value of the mission lay not in the number of events attended, but in the connections that were established.

The programme gave rise to a number of discussions with enterprises, organisations and partners in Australia across areas including AI, healthcare, fintech, greentech and enterprise digital transformation. These discussions will serve as the foundation for the development of specific cooperation projects in the period ahead.
